I just can’t stop with how adorable all of these vintage valentines are, so I came up with five MORE ways to display them! Many of you asked where to find vintage valentines and the simple answer is, EVERYWHERE! I find them at garage sales, antique shops, online, and auctions. If you can’t find them in your area, this vintage valentine book is a wonderful option.
1. Collage
I found an adorable scrapbook at an auction of someone’s keepsake valentines. They were the perfect base for these collages. These frames make this project so simple. Take your valentines and arrange them into the matte frame. I did not affix them, but just simply used the glass to keep them in place. Such a fun way to display all the cute graphics and what a statement they make when they are hung all together! These are the frames I swear by!
2. Heart Rug Beaters
This option serves double duty. Heart shaped vintage rug beaters are a neat Valentine’s Day decor staple all on their own. But paired with a few vintage valentines, they are Valentine masterpieces! I was able to tuck a few valentines into the twists of the rug beaters and used tiny clothespins to affix the others. These would look fantastic hung up on the wall, but this year I chose to display mine in a vintage red tin!
3. Cloches
Cloches are so romantic all on their own. They are the perfect vessel to amplify or preserve an item. The bases are so unique and the stunning glass gives light to its contents. I love a cloche for vintage valentines because you can pair it with other items or keep a special valentine safe. This would be a wise option for vintage valentines that are heirlooms.
4. Hang on a Ribbon
I have so many vintage valentines and this year I was looking for a way to display many in one space. I used this sweet architectural salvage piece and strung ribbons on to it to hold lots of valentines. I used small clothespins to attach them to the ribbon and even added in a few vintage “14” numbers too!
5. Teacups
Heart valentines are the optimal shape to fit nicely into a teacup. If you have a glassware display, the addition of vintage valentines is so picturesque. I added in tiny heart valentine in all of my teacups in the big jadeite hutch. This would be such a fun idea for a tablescape too! I am thinking we will do a Valentine’s tea party this year with the girls, so stay tuned for that!
BONUS: Crates
If all else fails, put all your vintage valentines in a wooden crate or soda crate. They are a great conversation piece and each of them are so fun to read, especially the ones with heartfelt messages on the back. Display these on a coffee table for all to enjoy!
