When it comes to bread baking, simplicity is always my genre! This recipe is so very simple and very festive for Spring and St. Patrick’s Day of course! The use of frozen dinner rolls makes this baking project easy for kiddos and beginners alike. The four leaf clovers are adorable and you could create any springtime scene with any type of veggies or herbs that you have on hand.
Ingredients
- Rhodes Texas Dinner Rolls
- Olive Oil
- Green Onions
- Green Peppers
- Jalapeños
- Thyme Sprigs
- Dill
Directions
- Grease a 9×13 baking dish or large cookie sheet. Place your frozen dinner rolls in the pan and let rise for 4-5 hours.
- Once rolls have risen, use your fingers to punch down dough.
- Drizzle olive oil over the top the dough. Use a brush to brush the entire top of the rolls.
- Slice your green onions into long stems. Slice your green peppers into “clover slices”. Slice your jalapeños into discs.
- Arrange your green peppers and jalapeños into four leaf clover shapes. Add the green onions as stems. Use thyme sprigs and dill to create a grass effect. Lightly press your veggies into the dough to secure.
- Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 18-20 minutes until golden brown.
I had several requests for the baking dish I used too. It is a Fireking 2000 jadeite model, so not something you can run out and buy at Target, BUT I did find a few second-hand options for you. I love to use this newer Fireking jadeite for baking. Fireking 2000 bake ware also came in a 9×9 square pan, pie plate, and covered dish. See below for Fireking 2000 jadeite bake ware I found for sale!
