Put on your glamorous hat and let’s get ready to run for the roses at the Kentucky Derby! There is something so exciting about watching those majestic horses speed around the track at Churchill Downs and cheering on your favorite horse! But there is also something so spectacular about hosting a festive Kentucky Derby party for those few minutes of horse racing!
I can think of so many quintessential Kentucky Derby foods, but it’s the perfect cocktail that makes a Kentucky Derby party. So what better way to celebrate than with an adorable derby drink stirrer. These are so easy to make and they can be used year to year! You can choose any color to spray paint these. I have included links for the products that I used to make this easy DIY!
Supplies
- Mini Toy Horses (I used these!)
- Drink Stirrers
- E6000 Glue
- Silver Spray Paint
Directions
- Spray paint your mini toy horses using the color of your choice, I chose silver! Let dry.
- Drill a small hole in the bottom of each mini toy horse.
- Insert a small amount of E6000 glue into the pre-drilled hole.
- Insert your drink stirrer stick into the hole, let dry.
- Enjoy with your favorite mint julep or Kentucky Derby drink!
To finish off your Kentucky Derby bar, use faux grass and crates to prop up drinks. Make a big batch of mint juleps or flavor infused water to help you cheer on your favorite racehorse! Let me know what horse you are cheering for this year!
