May 7, 2021 by thevettelfarm

Garage Sale, Tag Sale, Rummage Sale, Yard Sale....whatever you call it, they can be the BEST place to find vintage treasures and antiques at reasonable prices! I wanted to share my favorite tips for going to garage sales as we embark on the greatest garage sale season ever! Cash is King Let me tell you cash is always the preferred method for a garage sale. Sometimes if you run out of money, a garage sale owner will accept a local check. Also cash is quick! Most times my goal is to hit as many garage sales ...

Antique Heater Grate DIY

April 12, 2021 by thevettelfarm

Back in the day, heater grates were so stunning! They had intricate patterns and the most beautiful patina. I have seen really neat projects where people make beautiful tabletops out of them, but I'm not that talented yet! I knew I wanted to display this gorgeous piece for spring and what better than tucking in a few faux succulents? Faux succulents are seriously the best ever! They look very authentic, they are relatively inexpensive and YOU NEVER HAVE TO WATER THEM! That's my favorite part! The opportunities are endless here, you could fill the entire grate with small succulents or create a pattern like I did with the draped succulents. No matter what you choose, it is a neat display ...

Jam-o-Rita
Add ice to your jam jar. Shoot for 1 T. of remaining jam in the jar. Add in 1 shot of tequila, lime juice and a few splashes of margarita mix of sparkling water. Shake! I like to rim the jar after this step with lime juice and salt. Enjoy! 🍋‍🟩

P.S. Any type of jam will work!

Done and Done! You don’t have to tell me twice. Done and Done! You don’t have to tell me twice. I have never felt bad for buying more vintage.

💚 It reduces waste. Just think you are keeping those items out of landfills.

💚 One of a kind style, that is often made with high quality materials. Vintage lasts a lifetime.

💚 Vintage can be cost effective (besides a few crazy thrift stores) and can sometimes have investment potential. I often believe this of my jadeite collection, many values have almost tripled.

💚 Vintage pieces have history! They each tell a story and carry charm with them.

Have I convinced you yet? Isn’t that jingle catchy!
