I can still remember the excitement of making my Valentine’s Day box each year and even better was when you got to open all of your valentines from friends! The valentines of yesteryear are so darling, chalk full of charming graphics, witty sayings and bright colors. So what is the best way to display these vintage beauties? This is the first of two posts that I will share with a few fun ideas to display your vintage valentines for all to see and enjoy.
1. Vintage Valentine Wreath
This project could not be more simple. Take a wreath, preferably one that is red, pink, or white and use small clothespins to afix your vintage valentines to the wreath. This wreath was extra special with the glittered pink color!
2. Vintage Valentine Garland
Similar concept here. Use vintage valentines for an easy garland with any style cording. Rafia and baker’s twine are my favorite and then I use tiny cloths pins to attach my favorite valentines. This year I’m updating my garland to all vintage Whitney made valentines.
3. Display Vintage Valentines with Flower Frogs
Not only is this a great trick for Valentines, you can display any type of postcard with a flower frog too! Use a sturdy valentine and tuck it into the spikes of a vintage flower frog.
4. Window Hanging Valentines
This is such an easy way to display a whole bunch of valentines. I used a screen to display mine, but a window or window frame would work great too! I simply attached small nails on each side and strung a piece of twine. I used mini clothespins to attach my favorite Whitney valentines.
5. Vintage Valentine Glass Tray
Display your Valentines in a glass tray or a glass frame. Pictured here I am using a frame as a tray! This idea is wonderful for valentines that are a keepsake. It would be so neat to add a vintage hankie or a piece of lace that was a symbol of someone.
