I feel like I am living in my own real life Groundhog Day movie feature. This is the third time we have been snowed in this Fall and we have had to cancel lots of plans. I hope sharing my Christmas spaces brings you joy as the country embarks on this nasty snow storm and cold temperatures in the next few days.
Christmas Family Room
The real centerpiece of the family room this year is the Santa wall. I rounded up all of my vintage Santas and put them along one wall in our family room. I used various cubbies and crocks to showcase them all in a whimsical way! Can you really have too many Santas? The vintage ones are just so charming!
I wanted to keep the fireplace more simple this year, so I tried using minimal greenery. I love the mix of colors and patterns of all of the vintage Christmas boxes. The glass garland adds so much color variation and it was so easy to hang. I added my small collection of vintage Christmas stockings for that final added touch. Even Mr. Elk got a few Christmas decorations this year!
The aluminum trees never get old. This year I used single colors on each tree and I love the look of it. Next year I hope to create a full rainbow of aluminum trees each with their own respective color.
These elves are my absolute favorite to collect. I love to tell my girls that they are “retired” elves on the shelves and that they still can’t touch them.
Colorful Christmas Kitchen
I have always been a traditional red and green Christmas gal and this year I took a step outside of my comfort zone and added lots of fun COLOR! Pink was my favorite element to add into the mix. Colorful vintage Christmas items can be very hard to find, but I was lucky to have a few on hand.
One of my favorite projects from this holiday season was the framed recipe cards that were my Mom’s. I paired them with a few vintage Christmas printables of classic Christmas recipes and framed them in my favorite frames. My antique dress form is dressed to the nines in vintage aprons, my favorite being the 80’s apron I used to wear as a little girl.
Colorful Christmas Dining Room
The color carried over to the dining room this year. The inspiration really came from the beautiful pink tree from King of Christmas and all of the vintage ornaments. The putz house village in the hutch was also a welcomed pop of COLOR! I hunted all year long to find little pine cone people to complete my putz village and even wound up with a few putz Santas too.
I hope you enjoyed these small captures of Christmas in our home. I sure do enjoy bringing out all of my holiday collectibles each year and dreaming up new ways to display them. Let me know which displays are your favorite in the comments! Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas!
