Deadwood, South Dakota is known for it’s vast history in mineral mining, so choosing the right hardware for the Victorian on Van Buren was critical! The best thing we did for the restoration of our 1885 Victorian home was to get all new coordinating light switch plates and electrical outlet plates. The small touches in this renovation have made the biggest impact. The first compliment we always receive is about the hardware in this fixer upper!
All of the light switch plates and electrical outlet covers are from Nostalgic Warehouse. We chose their Victorian switch plate, which was the perfect choice! It has so much charm and character and is characteristic of the Victorian homes of yesterday. They look straight from an original Victorian home from 1885, but they have a sleek modern look as well. We chose the timeless bronze color to contrast with the bright, white walls in the home. Each plate has a hint of copper too, which I really loved! This pop of bronze really makes the exquisite details of each plate shine. You can find them here in 6 different colors!
Not only does Nostalgic Hardware have amazing outlet plates and light switch plates, they have exquisite pulls and knobs for kitchens and bathroom projects. We had the opportunity to use their beautiful Meadows cabinet door pulls and knobs in the fantastic antique brass finish. Paired with the bead board cabinetry, this kitchen has a very vintage feel, but still all of the modern amenities of a new kitchen. I truly love products that have the modern functionality, but that beautiful, historic look. Nostalgic Warehouse has perfected this combination, they are the leading manufacturer of vintage door hardware as well. Check out all of their amazing selections at Nostalgic Warehouse here and shop our kitchen hardware here and here.
The attention to detail on each piece is stunning. They have an amazing selection of styles and colors that make them the perfect source for all your hardware needs. Interestingly enough, our home had all of the original Eastlake door hardware, so finding a company like Nostalgic Warehouse was a dream because their products coordinated so well with all of the historic hardware from 1885.
This house has stood for 135 years or more and I know that with this “new” vintage hardware from Nostalgic Warehouse, she will continue to sparkle and withstand the test of time, thanks to these wonderful accents to the home.
