When I first walked through the Victorian on Van Buren the upstairs kitchen truly captured my heart. It dated back to 1895 and had all bead board cabinets and the original vintage sink. Unfortunately we had no need for a second kitchen and it worked out seamlessly that this would transform into the new master bathroom. Don’t worry the bead board and vintage sink all went into the remodel of the main kitchen.
This large kitchen space provided ample room for a new master bath and master closet space. I have never had a master bathroom, so this was my chance to go all out and do it right! Let me tell you, this space does not disappoint! This claw foot tub is massive and it came from the original 2nd floor bathroom. Interestingly enough, a portion of the tub had been sawed off for it to fit in the old spot. This new master bathroom space was the perfect spot for it.
Deadwood is all about GOLD and what a better color to outfit this bathroom than a spectacular polished brass everywhere. To start the claw foot tub deserved a special vintage style faucet. Signature Hardware has this amazing telephone style tub faucet in polished brass, perfect for that Victorian old world feel. The entire claw foot tub did get a makeover as well with a new interior, new paint on the outside and a fresh coat of paint on the claw feet.
A gorgeous marble tile shower and matching original marble sink rounds out the bathroom. The marble sink base actually was found in the garage attic and we believe it dates back to the original 1880’s bathroom. I love that the tub faucet had the same marble milk glass style handles. The space feels very modern but has those classic touches that give it so much charm and history.
My girls were so excited about the huge tub, that they demanded to be the first to have a bubble bath. They had so much fun with this adorable telephone style faucet from Signature Hardware. Stay tuned for more of the amazing details of this beautiful bathroom in the Victorian on Van Buren!
