When I began collecting jadeite, milk glass was always close behind. I often think of them as sisters, they share many patterns and both have that consistent milky appearance that we all know and love. FireKing milk glass has always been my favorite. I often recommend to others that milk glass is a great first collection because they are inexpensive and easy pieces to find.
Hobnail milk glass is milk glass that has the small dots as a texture. This is my favorite style of milk glass. I loved the idea of creating something new with my milk glass pieces and what more versatile than a tiered tray! The key to this project is finding milk glass pieces that work well together. It is important to have two sizes of plates, one piece that will serve as a base, one piece that will serve as a great “vase” at the top and one middle pieces to mesh it all together.
I used hot glue for this project to create durability but you could easily stack these and use them temporarily. Hot glue was a good choice because I could easily peel the glue off if I needed to adjust elements.
