Do you remember those days, those days when you listened to the radio to determine if school was canceled because of the copious amount of snow on the ground? Once you determined is was a SNOW DAY, you made plans to build the best snow fort, make snow angels, have a snowball fight and most importantly SLED! I do remember these days and they were glorious! No matter how cold it was, we would head out to sled down our driveway or clean a path among the many pine trees so we could get the most speed.
Once you were done sledding, nothing was better than a warm meal and toasty drink of hot cocoa. This sledding party is just that – a hearty lunch after a full day of sledding. I decided to create a baked potato bar, but not any ordinary baked potato bar. This baked potato bar has everything conveniently housed on an adorable antique sled!
This centerpiece is PERFECT because it raises up all the yummy toppings of bacon, sour cream, cheese, broccoli, salsa, and butter so that everyone can easily access all of the delectable toppings. And it looks so stinkin’ cute. Our baked potatoes came straight from our summer garden and they are delicious! For the best baked potato, I wrap mine in tin foil, add a few fork pokes, and bake at 425 degrees Fahrenheit for 60 minutes.
For the table setting, I loved the idea of a crisp, winter white palette. The place mats and napkins can be found by clicking the photos below. All of the ironstone dishes were a great vintage touch. I love this set because of all the adorable bowls to use for toppings.
I hope you are staying cozy this winter and if you if you aren’t sledding (like us in western North Dakota) I hope this inspires you to cook up a warm meal for your family to enjoy together! Stay warm!
