Milk Glass Tiered Tray DIY

March 16, 2022 by thevettelfarm

When I began collecting jadeite, milk glass was always close behind. I often think of them as sisters, they share many patterns and both have that consistent milky appearance that we all know and love. FireKing milk glass has always been my favorite. I often recommend to others that milk glass is a great first collection because they are inexpensive and easy pieces to find. Hobnail milk glass is milk glass that has the small dots as a texture. This is my favorite style of milk glass. I loved the idea of creating something new with my milk glass pieces and what more versatile than a tiered tray! The key to this project is finding milk glass pieces that work well together. It is ...

Spring Living Room

March 16, 2022 by thevettelfarm

Topiaries | Moss Bunnies | Butterflies | Bust Planter | Moss Ball | Moss Bunnies Set of 3 | Garland | Birch Cloche | Rug | Tulips Spring was in the air today, it was 65 degrees in North Dakota! Our family room is decked to the nines in bright springtime tones and lush greenery, I mean faux greenery. For our mantle this year I decided to do a "moss" theme inspired by all the fun moss bunnies I have been finding lately. We got a new rug in our living room space and I think this is my all time favorite! The colors are just perfect, neutral but a faint hint of green. The crowning jewel of the room is the faux tulips that took center stage. I use these all spring ...

Vintage Lamp Base DIY Candle Holders

March 4, 2022 by thevettelfarm

Vintage lamps are always so unique and quirky. They have been on the top of my thrifting list lately because of all the fun up-cycles you can create with them. Today I am going to share two easy up-cycles for a pair of milk glass thrifted lamps I found recently. These lamps would be entirely perfect on their own as lamps, but if you aren't in the market for lamps, they can make the perfect cloche base or even pair of candle holders. This DIY was so very simple, anyone can do it! Supplies vintage lamp(s) nut & bolt cloche candles hot glue (optional) Directions Unscrew the mechanical parts of the lamp. Most lamps unscrew in many different pieces. You can ...

Vintage Easter Wreath DIY

February 22, 2022 by thevettelfarm

Last year I fell in love with a vintage Easter wreath that was chalk full of adorable vintage Easter trinkets. The colors were so vibrant and it was such a charming arrangement of sweet little Easter baubles. I made it my mission to start hunting for these small Easter collectibles to create my own wreath and the process was very simple. Vintage Easter items can be slightly more difficult to find and on the more expensive side, so I did incorporate some vintage reproduction pieces into the wreath. Overall I love the arrangement and all the cheerful colors, it just screams SPRING! Supplies Foam Wreath Form Iridescent Tinsel Garland (I used this garland) Vintage Style Easter ...

Spring Arrangement with Essential Oils

February 15, 2022 by thevettelfarm

I can hear the pitter patter of Spring. It seems far away, but it will be here before we know it! This easy arrangement is a great transition from winter to spring. It offers the cozy glow of a warm candle, with the sweet scent of essential oils from Far & Wild. What could be more perfect than a stunning arrangement that can then be used to create the perfect spa treatment, lavender infused bath salts. Supplies Clear glass vase Epsom Salt Candle Essential Oils from Far & Wild (I used Lavender & Lemon) Dried Lavender How To Fill your glass vase with Epsom salt, about 1/3 full Add 6-8 drops of each essential oil - find my favorites here! 5 MORE Ways to Display Vintage Valentines

January 31, 2022 by thevettelfarm

I just can't stop with how adorable all of these vintage valentines are, so I came up with five MORE ways to display them! Many of you asked where to find vintage valentines and the simple answer is, EVERYWHERE! I find them at garage sales, antique shops, online, and auctions. If you can't find them in your area, this vintage valentine book is a wonderful option. 1. Collage I found an adorable scrapbook at an auction of someone's keepsake valentines. They were the perfect base for these collages. These frames make this project so simple. Take your valentines and arrange them into the matte frame. I did not affix them, but just simply used the glass to keep them in place. Such a fun way to ...

I turned a collection of vintage watches into something they were always meant to hold, a story. Each tiny face now carries a photo of my Mom or my Grandmas, like little time capsules I can wear all the time.

Because time doesn’t just pass… it becomes us.
And this Mother’s Day, I wanted to give something that says you’re with me in every second.

A gift made of seconds, memories, and the women who shaped mine.

I find these exquisite oval, antique frames often and they are such a simple way to create a beautiful entrance at your front door. I use a small amount of floral wire to affix faux florals and a mini bird’s nest for Spring.

I think it would be fun to redesign this one for summer with lots of red, white, and blue! 🇺🇸
